Why agents need memory more than speed
An agent keeps a long context alive, calls tools, and often holds more than one model resident at once. That is a memory problem before it is a speed problem. A machine that generates quickly but runs out of room mid-task is less useful than a slower machine that never has to unload anything.
Usable AI memory decides what a machine can load at all, and memory bandwidth decides how fast it answers once loaded. Those two numbers matter more than the processor name on the box. A machine with a large unified pool and modest bandwidth will run a very large model slowly; a machine with a fast narrow pool will run a small model quickly and refuse a large one outright.
The practical floor
Below about 96GB of usable AI memory the options narrow quickly once you want a capable model plus room for context and a second smaller model for routing. The machines on this page clear that bar, which is why they carry the Agent Computer classification.
