Past the consumer graphics ceiling
Forty-eight gigabytes is beyond what any consumer graphics card offers, so every machine here is either a professional card or a unified-memory design. That changes the buying question from which card to which architecture.
A 32B model fits comfortably with a generous context, and a 49B model fits with care. This is also the first band where running two models at once becomes practical, which matters for agent setups that use a small fast model to route and a larger one to think.
What this band costs
The professional card route buys high bandwidth with the memory and costs accordingly. The unified route costs far less per gigabyte and gives that memory up at a fraction of the speed. Neither is wrong; they are answers to different questions, and the price gap between them on this page is the clearest illustration of that on the site.
